As previously reported here, Gary Davis, a life-long lover and practitioner of theatre, passed on to that theatre in the sky on May 21. He was a great friend of MACT and had many friends in the theatre community. Applause Community Theatre presented many shows at Fast*Fest and MACT*Fest festivals over the years. At MACT*Fest 2025 Gary received MACT’s highest award, the Fliehr Award, for his outstanding service to the theatre community. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
His family has schedule a memorial service for him on Saturday, June 20 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ 900 Summit Ave, St Paul, MN 55105. Visitation will begin at 9:30am with a full service beginning at 11:00am.
Gary’s good friend, Joe Perzel, is hosting an Irish wake at the Half Time Rec., June 22, 2026 at 5:00pm CDT. Half Time Rec 1013 Front Ave, St Paul, MN 55103. Join us for some Irish music, some toasts to our dear friend, and bring all your best Gary stories.
